Liberian Music Industry: C Liberia Clearly Top 10 Female Singers of 2017

In an industry dominated by male artists, these female stars have done well to stand out and be some of the biggest names in the Liberian entertainment industry and most especially their hard-work and consistency.

So we, in our humble opinion, have compiled a list of the Top 10 Female singers in Liberia based on Vocal Ability, Lyrics and Delivery, Mainstream Acceptability, Consistency, and Commercial Value.

Here goes!

10. Nyae Slanger

This Hip Hop rapper might not have the huge fan base some others on this list have, but lyrically she can give the best in the land a run for their money. In simple terms, the girl can rap.

Her singles, “The Guest List”, and most recently “I Want to Know” have been doing well to keep her buzz going, and one gets the feeling that once she gets comfortable with the Liberian culture, she’ll be one of the hottest names in the Liberian Music industry and it’ll be very well deserved. Among her peers she’s already very well respected.

9. Pillz

Pillz is also gathering up a big fan base, and the award nominations for her single, Zoko Panda are indications that her career is taking off. For her core fans, it’s something they all knew was going to happen sooner or later. The rest of us are just now catching up.

8. Diamond Chanel

Diamond is now starting to make her mark on the Liberian music industry, but she actually hit the mainstream in 2016, with a mild buzz.

In 2017, her profile took a serious upturn when she remixed Bucky Raw hit song Jeh Leh Yor.  Her name is counted as one of the top divas in Liberian music.

7. Snoti

I’ll be the first to say I wasn’t quite sold on Snoti until recently even though I respected her hustle. She was too cold for an African vibe. But even in my “doubtful” period, I knew she was a solid entertainment brand. Her vocals are solid, and so is her work lyrically.  She can switch from traditional RnB to Kolloqua and not drop in quality. Over the past year,  she has won me over, and I’m now a big fan. Her new single featuring Jodi Clarke is absolutely beautiful.

6. Da Vero

Da Vero might not yet be the King of Queens, but she’s well on the road to being that. She’s constantly grown, and improved on every aspect of her brand, which leads me to believe as highly rated as she is now, the best is yet to come. Her newest single Mr. Bad Boy is major.

5. Faith Vonic

Faithvonic hit the ground running. She is currently nominated for Liberian Entertainment Awards 2018 Best New Artist of the Year, Liberia Music Awards Best Female Artist, TunesLiberia Best Female Artist.  Yesss, girl power.

She delivers her songs with class and sass.  Her more recent singles, Something Inside, and Come For Me have done well to keep her status at a consistent level, giving her all the makings of someone that’ll be around for the long haul.

4. Sweetz

You can bring up the discussion about who the best female singer in Liberia is right now, and I’m 100% sure Sweetz  name will always come up. She’s an amazing singer by any standards. Like her name, Sweetz, she brings beautiful melodies to the table. Her vocals are outstanding, lyrics are catchy , live performances are not the best, but likable.  She is one of the best.  She needs work on her image and performances to make the list of greatness. Her voice is amazing in every way possible.

3. Munnah

When it comes to Munnah, there’re different schools of thought as to where to place her in terms of female singers in Liberia.  For us, she’s up there.

While she might not sound like your stereotypical Liberian singer, she’s unrivaled in pure musical ingenuity. She’s something like a complete musician. Writing, composing, and orchestrating her sounds to fit the kind of music she wants to put out. She is slowly coming around and getting comfortable with the Liberian vibe.  Her lastest work, Cane Juice on Me,  is considered a classic Liberian vibe.

More importantly, her consistency is top notch.  She is one of our best musical export right now.

2. Mai Myers

Looking for a Liberian female artist with “star” written all over them? Look no further than Mai Myers.  I mean really it was hard not to sneak her into the #1 spot, but I’m sure she wont complain too much about being #2. At least on our humble list.

Her singing ability is never in question, lyrically she’s solid, performance wise she’s ok, need some work, but the star quality/commercial acceptability surrounding her is beaming to the skies.

Quite frankly her list of songs are getting endless.

And Awards? Oh, trust me, when you’re nominated for the Liberian Entertainment Awards Best Artist of the Year, you know you’ve made it.

1. Mz Menneh

The Queen! The Mommy of Divas in the new generation of Liberian music! Mz Menneh as she is often called has been a consistent force in Liberian music since she burst onto the scene.

What makes Mz Menneh so special is her unique ability to appeal to every class of people in Liberia and Africa as a whole. Her choice of languages to sing in (Kolloque, Gio and Kpelle) means that she is the true definition of a Liberian artist. Add her vocal range, great lyrics (both playful and serious) and enticing sex appeal,  it’s easy to see why she’s so loved.

With countless awards and nominations, it’s easy to see how Mz Menneh is #1 on C Liberia Clearly Best Female Singer list.  Her cultural videos are amazing, absolutely beautiful.  She got to work on that performance and own the stage like a true traditional artist.

What President Trump and Kim Jong Un Ate

The historic summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un continued midday Tuesday, as the leaders satisfied their appetites while holding negotiations with a contingent of advisers over a working lunch. The lunch, which followed a 45-minute one-on-one meeting between the leaders earlier in the morning and bilateral discussion with senior aides, was held at the Capella Hotel on Singapore’s Sentosa Island. It was far from an intimate affair, with each leader accompanied by a bevy of senior staff, according to the White House. Joining Trump were Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Chief of Staff John Kelly, National Security Advisor John Bolton, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Deputy Assistant to the President for Asian Affairs Matthew Pottinger. Kim was accompanied by Kim Yong Chol , the former spy chief and one of North Korea’s chief negotiators, as well as Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, former

Snapchat Slammed for Domestic Violence Meme Featuring Rihanna and Chris Brown

If Kylie Jenner ‘s stock-plummeting Snapchat rant didn’t make you delete the app, maybe this will. Over the weekend, Snapchat found itself in hot water after a now-deleted domestic violence meme featuring Rihanna and Chris Brown went viral. The meme, which was an advertisement for the app “Would You Rather,” asked users whether they would prefer to “slap Rihanna” or “punch Chris Brown.” Almost immediately, screenshots of the ad appeared on Twitter, with many criticizing Snapchat for making light of domestic violence. Is it just me, or is this ad that popped up on my Snapchat extremely tone deaf? Like what were they thinking with this? pic.twitter.com/7kP9RHcgNG — Royce Mann (@TheRoyceMann) March 12, 2018 Many considered the ad a mockery of Rihanna’s experience with domestic violence. In 2009, Brown was arrested and charged for physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna hours before she was to perform at the Grammy awards. Since the incident, Rihanna has spo
