Liberian Entertainment Awards CEO Tarkus Zonen Apologizes

Liberian Entertainment Awards celebrated its first major milestone, its 10th Anniversary, last weekend, March 10, 2018.  The expectation for a grand event from the event goers were so high, but the reality was far from the dream.  Tarkus Zonen, the CEO of the LEA, took to social media to apologize and encourage LEA loyal attendees. Check out his words below: 

In these times of uncertainties and economic crisis, we want to thank you all for your continuous support in recognizing our very own Liberians as they excel in Music, Movies, Fashion, and Services.
We’d like to, again, congratulate all of our nominees, winners, and performers and ask that you continue to highlight Liberian Excellence. Thanks to our hosts, Jimmy Dee and Lisa Togbah for such an amazing job. Also thanks to our presenters, the LEA Academy, Jersey International, sponsors, contractors, consultants and volunteers.
It’s always a challenge to perfectly blend the elements of the red carpet, performances, production and the Liberian Experience. And often, you hear about the negatives. And we apologize for all short comings and take full ownership. However, there’s a undying desire to enhance the LEA Experience and get things right.
As you may know, the most important factor in any relationship is listening. And we truly appreciate all the creative feedbacks from the weekend and they will indeed be implemented. Our goal as always, is to make the Liberian Entertainment Awards an event every Liberian can be proud of. We also invite others to join us in enhancing the LEA Experience.
We promise next year’s ceremony will bring forth the very best Liberia has to offer. See you all March 2019 for another edition of The LEA.

President George Weah's One Day National Forum Successfully Attended by 26 Political Parties

On Thursday, August 8, 2018, President George Weah had a sit down with 26 political parties of Liberia.  The meeting aimed at advancing ideals that promote the spirit of national unity and political tolerance between opposition political parties and the government.  ANC, LP and UP attended the meeting as a team. According to Deputy Minister Eugene L. Fahngon, Deputy Minister for Press and Public Affairs at Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism, all 26 political parties attended and participated from start to finish.  Even though, social media was buzzing about AB Dillion walking out of the meeting, he walked out as an individual and not a political party, "the invitation was extended to political parties and not to individuals," Minister Fahngon stated in his live video.  Each political party gave ideals and recommendations, which made the meeting a great success.  According to  Deputy Minister Fahngon, "there will be future engagement...

Liberian Superstar Quincy B Dead

2 March 2017 / Berenice Mulubah  Quincy B On March 3, 2017, Liberian superstar, Quincy L. Borrow aka Quincy B, died from a car accident, on his way from KARAOKE NITE, in Monrovia, Liberia.  The artist was pulled out of the damaged vehicle and rush to the JFK hospital. Quincy B did not survived.   Few hours before his death, the artist was spotted live on snap chat, singing Karaoke. Quincy B who was the driver of the car, died immediately.  Artists CIC , Margas Bimba and Feouls Kaba in the vehicle, as well, they are at the hospital, being treated.  CIC broken his legs in the accident. CIC and Quincy B are nominated for the Liberian Entertainment Awards 2017.
