Pitty D'Best Returns With 7 Songs EP "The One"

On April 19, 2019, Pitty D'Best from No Bad Day Entertainment Records debut his newest project, a seven songs EP called "The One". The EP speaks on Self Respect, Self Love and Self Discipline. My personal favorite is Injection. It is a well put together piece, from lyric to vocal, beat and arrangement. According to the artist, "this is not a come back, because I never left, this is a return from a vacation." Cool.

Mr. Chea, brain behind the advocacy, says he decided to undertake the exercise to remind fellow Liberians about the collective responsibility to maintaining peace and security fought for by the regional body ECOWAS, in collaboration with UNMIL.

Liberian music: Joemade Scott Talks First Liberian Entertainment Awards Experience

Every year, Liberian Entertainment Awards (LEA) receives tremendous amount of criticism, but that has not stop the LEA from seen new faces every year. This year, a new wave of Liberian entertainers were in the building for the first time, including Joemade Scott, Lydia Freeman, Benita Urey, Michelle Doe, Roda Scarlett, and many more. We spend some time with Joemade, getting to know a little about her first LEA experience. Check out her words below.  It was my first time experiencing the award ceremony segment of the LEA. I was that individual who only went to the after party.

Initially I was impressed by the hard work and teamwork that was going on behind the scenes when I showed up for rehearsal. The LEA staff was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I was also impressed that they provided a customer service hotline for any questions. And the icing on the cake for me was the valet service at the award ceremony. I was concerned about walking the streets of DC in my heels and dress …

Liberia: Stunna "For Life" Video Graded

Stunna just dropped the visual for his hit song "For Life", starring the queen of airwaves, DJ Master Queen.
The creative concept of the video is romantic. The casting was perfect, no better individual to play that role, Master Queen played a very realistic and convincing role. You can see that the scripted was well-written, the concept of the video is clear, the imagery is concise and action very easily understood. Good picture quality, lighting and exposure are perfect, but the color balance, I'm not too impressed with. Good shot composition and staging. High quality audio with clean, clear lyrics and music throughout the video. I definitely love the dialect lines thrown in it. From a scale of 1 to 10, I give this video a 9.5.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

Liberia police charge son of ex-leader in banknote scandal

MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) - Liberian police on Monday formally charged the 61-year-old son of the country's former president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, in connection with the unlawful overprinting of local currency worth millions of U.S. dollars. According to the charge sheet shared with The Associated Press by police, Charles Sirleaf and others, including former Central Bank governor Milton Weeks, face a multitude of charges, including economic sabotage, the misuse of public money and criminal conspiracy.

Liberia: Kobazzie "Bounce" Remix Davido Gets Mixed Reviews

Kobazzie just dropped the most anticipated remix to Bounce, featuring Davido, and the reviews from fans are 50/50 thumbs up and downs down. Unlike most Liberian songs when featuring an international artist, Davido did not outshined Kobazzie on the remix. His verse was shorter like it should be, a little weaker like it should be, giving Kobazzie all of the shine. I'm sure Davido could have gone harder, and stronger on his verse, but I believe that he was more interested in supporting Kobazzie than to out do him on his own track. That is a boss move, a superstar move and role model move. I am all for it. Both versions of the song are amazing. The original is better to some than others, the remix is better to some than others, and for some, including myself, the qualities are the same, and most importantly, Davido did not outshine Kobazzie. That is gracefully and I dig that. Check out the song and let us know what you think.

Liberia: Bucky Raw Feels Unwelcome Within the Liberian Music Industry - The Industry Wants Me To Pack My Load

Bucky Raw, who was once a hip hop rapper, didn't make a name within the Liberian community until he was featured in the Liberian Entertainment Awards  Cypher few years ago. The artist gave a jaw-dropping performance, rapping in his local Liberian dialect, that drove everyone wild. Since then, his popularity has grown at home and abroad. But, with the fame came along some challenges for the young artist. Over the years, the artist has stepped on many toes, including some key players of the industry. In a post on twitter, bucky raw expressed his inner feelings about the industry.
“The industry wants me to pack my load I jeh arriving. Y’all not see nothing yet .”

Are folks hating on Bucky because of Jealously or because of his ego and unpleasant interaction with the industry players? What do you think?

Liberia: Bucky Raw Team Kissing Up to Nigerian to Get A Deal

In the Liberian Entertainment Industry, when the higher-ups speak on being humble and respectful, the first respond you receive from most entertainers is "I don't kiss ass." A comment that has been used by Bucky team over the years. Is this phrase limited to just the Liberian Entertainment Industry? Looking at these text messages between Bucky's team and Don Jazzy, it is contradicting from what we have been told. It sure do look like ass kissing. Don't get me wrong, being humble and respectful, especially when you need someone to dedicate their time to you, is highly encouraged. What is not acceptable, is for Liberian entertainers to be so disrespectful and rude to their own people within the industry, but willing to kneel down to foreigners. Check out these screen shots and give us your input.
