Box Office: 'Avengers: Infinity War' Passes 'Star Wars: Force Awakens' With Record $250M U.S.

Disney and Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War kicked off the summer box office in high style over the weekend, opening to a record-setting $250 million in North America and $380 million overseas for a global total of $630 million, the top worldwide debut of all time. Fellow Disney title Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($248 million) was the previous record holder for biggest domestic bow, while Universal's The Fate of the Furious had held the record for biggest global start ($541.9 million). Infinity War 's box-office victory was aided by the biggest Saturday of all time in North America ($83 million), as well as the biggest Sunday (an estimated $61 million), reflecting powerful word of mouth.

Football lover tattoos his team’s shirt on his body

A Brazilian football fan tattooed his team's jersey on his body. Jose Mauricio dos Anjos, a Flamengo superfan, has spent 90 hours in agony over the past year to get Flamengo’s red and black uniform inked on his body. After 32 painful sessions, the tattoo on Friday. Radio Presenter Lady T apologizes for outburst

Mad Beat Records CEO, Lady T was contrite in a written apology, saying she could have handle the situation better. Lady T, who flipped out during a Facebook live, less than a week ago, took time to apologize to family and fans through a written Facebook post.  The music promoter was upset over rumors she heard spread by Kobazzie and attacks from Roda Scarlett.  She took to Facebook about a week ago, insulting her attackers. Ghana likely to import timber from Liberia

The Director of Communications for the Domestic Lumber Traders Association of Ghana, Anthony Partey Asare, has said the Association is contemplating importing lumber from Liberia since the lumber from Ghana’s forests are fast losing their quality. Speaking in an interview with Citi News in Tema, Mr Partey Asare said “we as wood sellers in the country have travelled to other countries around our sub-region to see if we can get access to import quality lumber because the quality we have here is not the best. We found our way to Liberia and when we got there, we saw that the quality we want is there.” He said the Association again travelled to South America and is looking at importing lumber from some countries there to serve the Ghanaian market and also add value for export. “For now, we are looking at importing quality lumber from Liberia to serve the local market and also add value to it for the international market.” Mr Partey Asare said “we are only appeali

Unapologetic Bucky Raw Blame Female Fans For His Deportation

Bucky Raw is not as apologetic as he pretended to be when he first got deported to Liberia. When the artist was released from jail, he wrote a letter of apology to his kids, finace and female fans for the domestic violence rumors.  During his first interview when he arrived in Liberia, he re-echoed this apology.  Well, the rapper did a 360 when he made a comment under a live video on Facebook.   He wrote, "To be real y'all are the reason I got deported...all the lies y'all telling is the reason why I was arguing with my daughter's mom that got me in jail and deported. Former Liberian president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf described herself as an imperfect leader on Friday when she accepted the prestigious $5m Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership. "As the first woman to receive this Mo Ibrahim Foundation Prize award, it is my hope that women and girls across the continent are inspired to break down barriers," said the 79-year-old who left office earlier this year. Nigerian gang leader jailed for drugs and firearms offenses in UK

A member of an organised crime network who modelled himself on real and fictional gangsters, was jailed at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, 26 April for nine years and three months in the U.K Oluwatobi Sunmonu, 26, was arrested as a result of an intelligence-led investigation carried out by the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command. His co-conspirators, Toni Ferry and Iyisha Levine, were also arrested. On 20 May 2017, officers searched a room at the Queens Hotel Bayswater where they found four bags locked with padlocks. The bags were found to contain: - Five handguns; - One semi-automatic firearm; - One silencer; - A large quantity of live ammunition; - A large quantity of component parts of ammunition; - A large quantity of Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin). The drugs were valued at approximately £152,000. Detectives also discovered a false driving licence in the name of Thomas Corleone.  Nigerian musician Davido and South African TV presenter cum actress Boity Thulo are reported to have had a physical confrontation at the All White 30 Billion concert held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on April 22. Boity alleged that Davido wanted to go to her room, allegations that Davido denied. It took the intervention of the organiser of the show, flamboyant businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure to calm her down. Senator Prince Johnson Outrightly rejects Dual Citizenship

Senator Prince Johnson rejecting dual citizenship and the deportation of 24 Liberians from the U.S dominate the headlines of Liberian newspapers on Friday. Cllr. Sherman, in a nine - page document read in the plenary of the Liberian Senate, Thursday argued that there is need for change in the 1986 Constitution, especially the portion that prohibits dual citizenship. The Grand Cape Mount County Senator believes that if Liberia opens itself to dual citizenship, the state’s economy will expand. According Sen. Sherman, Liberians who left the country during the bitter civil wars and have taken citizenships in other countries for social and economic protection should be allowed to regain their Liberian citizenship.  A Virginia woman has made international news headlines after she gave birth all by herself in an Istanbul hotel room by watching YouTube and using shoelaces and knives.
