Thomas Etheridge has been sent to the Monrovia City Court on charges like arson and illegal gun possession. On January 20, 2025, Justice Gberisay ordered the state to present Etheridge for further assessment. According to a court correspondent, the state plans to refer Etheridge to the Supreme Court, which will decide whether to pass him on to state prosecutors for additional proceedings or to his legal team.
The writ claims that Etheridge, along with co-defendants Amos Kofa, Eric Susay, and others, conspired to commit arson and other crimes through a phone call, resulting in $1.8 million in damages. It also states that on December 17, 2024, the defendants plotted to obtain gasoline for their criminal activities.
Etheridge and the other suspects face several charges, including arson, criminal mischief, conspiracy, solicitation, intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, illegal firearm possession, distribution of controlled substances, reckless endangerment, and theft of property.
