How to start a successful music career

A lot of talented individuals are not successful business people. Talent is one thing, business is another beast.  You may have the musical talent but don't have the ability to channel it into business.  Here are few tips to help you come up with a solid plan.  Hope it helps.

1. Set goals.
Decide on your goal for the next 12 months: 200 fans? 10 shows? Then break it down into small goals and tasks. Work on them.

2. Work on your music skills.
Have a good ear, continue to work on your vocals, learn to perform live and work on your dance skills.

3. The promotion
You are responsible for your promotion.  Use social media, your website, make personal connections with the media.  You are not connecting to like them or for them to like you, you are connecting to grow your business.  Keep your goal in mind.

4. The pressure.
Be mentally stable and don't promise anything in public until you have it in hand to deliver.

5. The business.
Be professional, control expenses, meet deadline.

Good Luck!!!
