PQSJ PRODUCT GETS PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTMENT -Takes Over As LINA New Director General…

An Honored Student of the Peter Quaqua School of Journalism-PQSJ has been named the new Director General of the Liberia News Agency-LINA.

Kwame O. Weeks, current President of the PQSJ 2018 Graduating Class was appointed to LINA Monday by President George Weah.

The Liberia News Agency is within the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism-MICAT on Capitol Hill.

In a Statement issued in Monrovia Tuesday, March 6, 2018, MediaAid Foundation, owner of the Peter Quaqua School of Journalism, expressed explicit confidence in the ability of Mr. Weeks in raising the standards of LINA in the months ahead.

MedaiAid says, given his excellent academic records coupled with his networking skills for the last 9-months at the journalism school, the new LINA Boss will transform the agency.

The Release is also quoted as commending President Weah for preferring a student of the Peter Quaqua School of Journalism for such important post in the Government’s media arena.

MedaiAid describes Kwame Weeks’ ascendancy to LINA as a ‘success story’ for PQSJ, which serves as a gateway to building his media career.

The new LINA Director General remains an honored student with a minimum GPA of at-least 3.00 since his enrollment in the Peter Quaqua School of Journalism 9-months Intensive Training Program.

President George Weah's One Day National Forum Successfully Attended by 26 Political Parties

On Thursday, August 8, 2018, President George Weah had a sit down with 26 political parties of Liberia.  The meeting aimed at advancing ideals that promote the spirit of national unity and political tolerance between opposition political parties and the government.  ANC, LP and UP attended the meeting as a team. According to Deputy Minister Eugene L. Fahngon, Deputy Minister for Press and Public Affairs at Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism, all 26 political parties attended and participated from start to finish.  Even though, social media was buzzing about AB Dillion walking out of the meeting, he walked out as an individual and not a political party, "the invitation was extended to political parties and not to individuals," Minister Fahngon stated in his live video.  Each political party gave ideals and recommendations, which made the meeting a great success.  According to  Deputy Minister Fahngon, "there will be future engagement...

Stephen Worjloh aka Big Steve Liberian music industry before the 90's was booming globally.  As the young entertainers struggles to get their industry back on track, after the war, remembering their musical history plays a big role.
